ANNU 141 and Microsoft Teams

This week we are happy to have Dr. Renata Veroneze, presenting for us on Friday, October 9th, 2026. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST in ANNU 141 and on the virtual platform of Microsoft Teams. The presentation title is: “What Are We Missing? The Contribution of the X Chromosome to Genetic Variance in pigs.”
Speaker Biography: Renata Veroneze is Associate Professor of Animal Breeding and Genetics at Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV) in Brazil and a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow (level 1D). She holds a PhD from UFV and Wageningen University (2015) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Georgia, USA. Her research focuses on genetic parameter estimation, quantitative genetics, genotype by environment interaction, and genomic prediction for complex traits. She is also interested in the use of new and/or automated recorded phenotypes in beef cattle and pig breeding.
