We would like to welcome you back to our weekly CGIL seminars.

For the first seminar of the Fall 2023, we are happy to have Dr. Al Schaefer, President of Animal Inframetrics, presenting for us on Friday, September 22nd, 2023. The seminar will begin at 1:30 PM EDT/EST on the virtual platform Microsoft Teams. The title of the presentation is: “The phenotypic determination of metabolic efficiency in livestock”.

Speaker Biography: Dr. Al Schaefer has a B.Sc. in Agriculture and M.Sc. in Animal Physiology from the University of Alberta, as well as a Ph.D. in Animal Physiology from the University of British Columbia. He is a research scientist in the area of animal physiology. He is the president of Animal Inframetrics, a University of Alberta Spin Off Company, and serves as an adjunct professor at two Canadian Universities; the University of Alberta and the University of Manitoba. Dr. Schaefer was also a level 5 Research Scientist at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Lacombe Research Centre. Dr. Schaefer has been a co-inventor on over 40 patents on seven different technology platforms.
